In this season usual year, from October thru March, Sagamiko Lake (Sagamiko since here) has only 9 inline buyos separating east and west bound boats.
But this year, Sagamiko has full rowing course extended 2km from 1km.
This extension and fascilitate may owe that Canada Olympic Rowing Team has selected Sagamiko as their training venue during Olympic period.
On Feb.3rd, I tried singlesculling on Lane 6 of almost completed course before delivery to Kanagawa pref.
Please refer to the follwing movie shot at that time.
I prefer distance indication buyos should be set a little far more from lane 1 or 6 in order to avoid to be caught up by faster following boat while training.
I have introduced renewed Sagamiko Rowing Course here.
For me, as only one of people loving enjoy rowing not competition, physicaly inferior, short and began rowing at 60yo, this fascility is too enough.
I consider rowing course gets sufficient, but how other infras are ?
Warning to Rower on Sagamiko
Unfortunately I must mention that Sagamiko is not a paradise for competitive rower, although it provides extended 2km rowing course.
Because, many people are living on Sagamiko. Most of them lend their small skiffs for fishing and enjoy. These borrowers are mostly ignorant whether they are in the course or out the course. They mostly are silent while anticipating they collide with rowers.
And some sightseeing ships, available for 50 passengers, goes along Sagamiko.
And there is no separation rule between rowers and these skiffs and ships.
Renewed rowing course extends widely whole Sagamiko. Hence sightseeing ships must cross the rowing course at 2 points, west and east.
So rowers must watch these skiffs and ships during their training.
